Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Jonny Hayes, after his Man of the Match performance against Motherwell on Sunday.
Hayes played a starring role as the Bhoys defeated Motherwell by two goals to nil, with his wonderful contribution in particular for the second goal a real shining moment from a complete performance – his work led to Richard Tait turning the ball into his own net.
It was the 32-year-old’s third assist of the season in total, and his overall showing has led to bundles of praise from the Celtic supporters on Twitter.
Hayes was lining up at left-back on the day – only the second time he has done so this season – and it was impressive to see a natural attacking midfielder perform so effectively in a defensive position.
One fan said that the four-cap Republic of Ireland international “never lets us down”, whereas another supporter said that Hayes’ passion is “undeniable”.
